DEATH OF MRS. BARNEY ROUH [Newspaper Spelling, Cemetery monument spells it as Rauh]
Highly Esteemed Lady of North Washington Called to Eternal Home After Long Illness.

At her home in North Washington October 18, 1904, occurred the death of Mrs. Barney Rouh, in the 67th year of her age, from the effects of cancer which had its inception about thirteen years ago. She had been gradually growing weaker and the end found her fully prepared for the last farewell. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Boellerschen, of New Hampton and a sister, Mrs. Michael Karn of North Washington.

She was a kind-hearted and industrious mother, wife, neighbor and friend; always willing to lend a helping hand when called upon to do so, and knowing, as she did, that her time to depart would soon come, she bore her burdens bravely.

She was a devout and consistent member of the Catholic church and died fortified by all her rites. The funeral services were held Thursday morning at St. Mary’s church, of which she was a devoted member, conducted by Rev. Father Probst, who in a fitting sermon paid a worthy tribute to the deceased, emphasizing the necessity of a Christian life.

Her removal has caused sorrow and regret among a wide circle of friends. May she rest in peace.
