Mary A. Rowley, 63, of Charles City, Iowa, died Saturday evening, November 7, 2009, at her home in Charles City.

Funeral services for Mary Rowley will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Charles City. Pastor Dennis Niezwaag and Pastor David Werges will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Friends may call at Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will continue an hour before the service at the church Wednesday.

Mary Ann Chapin was born May 30, 1946, at Hampton, the daughter of Lynn and Rosemary (Glasgow) Chapin. She graduated from the New Hampton High School. On June 14, 1964, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Rowley at New Hampton. Mary and Kenneth have owned and operated Rowley Carpet Services outside Charles City for 20 years. She was a member of the Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Colwell United Church of Christ. Her interests included attending her grandchildren’s athletic events, having coffee with the girls, shopping, going to movies and dinner, driving her 4-wheeler, making pies, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family.

Living family members include her husband of 45 years, Kenneth Rowley of Charles City; daughter, Rachael (Barry) Kelly of Nora Springs; son, Tim Rowley and his special friend, Becky Ferch of Charles City; three grandchildren, Brianna, Alyssa and Spencer Kelly all of Nora Springs; six sisters, Carol (Tom) Bruch of Cedar Rapids, Marlene May of New Hampton, Esther (Cy) Burlage of Cedar Falls, AJ (Kelly) Meyer of Decorah, Rosalyn (Melvin) Miller of Ionia and Cindy (Bob) Helle of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Stephen (Virjean) Chapin of New Hampton and Larry (Marry) Chapin of Nebraska City; sister-in-law, Shirley (Russell) Nordman of Charles City; father-in-law, Lawrence Lomison of Charles City; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and mother-in-law, Maxine Lomison.
