H Kammeyer of F'Burg Died Jan 16

Fredericksburg.

Henry Kammeyer, 74, died very suddenly at his home here about 10:30 am Wednesday, Jan 16. He had just returned from the post office.

The son of Frederick and Dorothea Weidler Kammeyer, he was born in Chickasaw County near Boyd on Aug 9, 1888. He was married to Martha Griesert on March 26, 1913, and they farmed in this vicinity until moving to a home in town about 20 years ago. Since then he worked as a carpenter.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Leslie (Margaret) Kalkbrenner of Tripoli and Mrs Ed (Gertrude) Dedor, Sumner; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; also a brother, Fred, of Waterloo and three sisters; Mrs Ted (Alma) Kolschow of Hinsdale, Ill, Mrs Ed (Edna) Pantke of Western Springs, Ill and Mrs Frank (Mary) Weitenhagen of Fredericksburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, William, Lewis and Herman Kammeyer and two sisters, Mrs Bertha Moeller and Mrs Matilda Gitch.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm Saturday from St Paul's Lutheran Church of which he was a member. The Rev. Kenneth Krahn officiated.

Mrs Jerry Gitch sang "Asleep in Jesus" and "Abide With Me" with Miss Diane Wenthe as accompanist. Flowers were in charge of Mrs Harold Stone and Mrs Ross Edwards.

Nephews were pallbearers. They were Harold Weitenhagen, Dean Curtis, Alton Snider, Karl Kammeyer, Arnold Gitch and William Blasche. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
