Wm. Kammeyer Funeral Wednes. At St Paul's

Died Monday Following Stroke; One Son Survives

Funeral services for William H Kammeyer, 76, were held at 1:30 pm Wednesday from the Perry Chapel and at 2pm from St Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. H.J. Brandt, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church at Alta Vista officiating. Mrs Gerald Bailey and Arthur Boettcher sang "Abide With Me" and "Rock of Ages" accompanied on the organ by Mrs Norbert Stolz.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery with Allen Knutson, Oscar Kemp, Clarence Dense, Kenneth Card, Sam Mack and John Crawford as pall bearers. Millie Wachholz, Mrs Heman Gauger and Mrs Oscar Kemp were in charge of the flowers.

Mr Kammeyer died at 10 am Monday at St Joseph's Hospital where he had been a patient for a day following a severe stroke he suffered early on Sunday. He had previously suffered one in November and had since been convalescing in the home of his son, Carl Kammeyer and family at Waterloo.

On Friday he came to spend a few days at his home here which is tenanted by the Allan Knutson family and enjoy a visit with his relatives and friends. It was there that he was stricken.

William Henry Kammeyer, son of Frederick and Dorothy Weidler Kammeyer was born Oct 18, 1877 at LaGrange, Ill. At the age of eight years he came to the Fredericksburg vicinity with his parents and family. He attended the rural schools and was confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Boyd in 1891.

On Nov 5,1903, he was married to Mary Beckman. They established their home on a farm south of Boyd where they resided until 1920 when they moved to New Hampton. Mr Kammeyer followed the carpenter trade for two years and then took employment at the Chickasaw County Equity. In 1938 he became manager of the Equity, which position he held until April, 1951, when he retired. Two children were born to this union.

Mr Kammeyer was a member of St Pauls Lutheran church.

Surviving are one son, Carl of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Sharon and William Kammeyer of Waterloo and Nancy Kammeyer of New Hampton; three sisters, Mrs Edna Pantke of Western Springs, Ill, Mrs Alma Kolzow of Hinsdale, Ill and Mrs Frank (Mary) Weitenhagen of Fredericksburg and three brothers, Louis and Henry Kammeyer of Fredericksburg and Fred Kammeyer of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife who died Oct 10, 1953; a son Alve who died Dec 6, 1951; three sisters, Bertha, Tillie and Amanda and one brother, Herman.

Relatives attended from Western Springs, Ill, Hinsdale, Ill, Stewartville, Minn, Racine, Minn, Waterloo, Nashua, Fredericksburg, Tripoli and other nearby towns.
