NASHUA, IOWA - Berniece Wolf, 74, passed away Thursday morning, April 22, 2004, at her home in Nashua of cancer.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2004, at St. John Lutheran Church in Nashua, with burial at Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City. Visitation will be Sunday, from 2-6 p.m., at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Nashua and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Berniece (Plautz) Wolf was born on May 19, 1929, at Ayr, Neb., the daughter of Fred and Clara (Mohling) Plautz. She moved to Nashua with her parents in 1942 and graduated from Nashua High School in 1946. She taught rural schools for two years. Berniece was united in marriage to Kenneth J. Wolf on August 1, 1948, at St. John Lutheran Church in Nashua. They farmed southeast of Nashua until retiring in 1980, when they moved to town.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of Nashua; three sons: Wesley (Jane) Wolf of Nashua, Stanley (Maria) Wolf of Waterloo and Roger (Dianna) Wolf of Lisbon; one daughter, Susan (Darrell) Durand of Minneapolis, Minn.; a brother-in-law, Raymond Jakel of Nashua; seven grandchildren: Jeremy Wolf, Wendy Wagner and Brian Wolf, Melinda Wolf and Eric Wolf, along with Crystal Wolf and Alex Wolf.

Berniece was preceded in death by one son, Larry Wolf on August 20, 1971; her parents; one sister, C. Kathleen Jakel; one brother, Howard Plautz; and a sister-in-law, Kandi Plautz.
