Although not unexpected, the death of Charles O. Ernwine, which occured Saturday, April 20, came as a shock to many.

He had been a great sufferer for the past two months, from an abcess which had formed in his abdomen. This had been troubling him for about two years and had been sapping his life blood until there was hardly anything but water in his veins. The past few weeks he had valvular heart disease and this had so reduced his strength that his system was forced to succumb to its ravages. His age was 45 years, 6 months, and 14 days.

Charles Ernwine was born in Bradford October 5, 1855, and has since lived in this locality. He leaves to mourn his death, three brothers, M.W., J.H., and G.H. Ernwine, and three sisters, Mesdames John Hamilton, Geo. W. Smith, and A.E. Frost, all of whom live in this locality.

The funeral was held at the home of his brother, Henry, where he died. Rev. Edwin Ewell officiating and the burial was in Greenwood cemetery.
