PETERSON

Died at his home in Deerfield on Saturday last, Perry Peterson, aged 78 years, 7 months, 17 days.

Deceased was born at Sharon, (Windsor County) Vermont. He moved to Illinois at an early age and later to the state of Iowa. For several years he lived upon a farm near Nashua. The latter few years of his life have been spent at Deerfield, Iowa. Mr. Peterson was in good health until last Wednesday night when he was suddenly taken ill. The attending physician pronounced his sickness the result of being overcome by the heat of the day, upon which he was taken ill, caused by excessive exercise while attempting to catch a horse which was running loose. During his sickness he experienced no pain and when the final summons came, he peacefully passed away.

The deceased was a brother of our townsman, Abel Peterson and was well known to many of the people of this vicinity. The funeral was held from the house on Monday at 9 a.m. and the remains were laid to rest in the Beck Cemetery, north of Nashua.
