LAWLER CITIZEN DIED FRIDAY

Mr. Edward FINNEGAN Passed Away at His Home at the Age of Eighty-eight Years.
-Born in Ireland.

The death of Edward FINNEGAN of Lawler, occurred on Friday, May 14th at the age of eighty-eight years. His funeral was held Monday and was conducted by Rev. Martin HOGAN. Burial was made in St. Rose cemetery.

The deceased was born in Monahan County, Ireland, May 15th, 1827. He came to America when a young man and settled in Chickasaw County. On Feb. 4, 1863, he was married to Miss Catherine Noon who remains to mourn the death of her companion of these many years.

To these estimable people fourteen children were born, two of whom have preceeded their father to the grave. The living children are: Mrs. Luke HEATHERTON of Waterloo, B.F. FINNEGAN of Pernam, Minn., J.P. FINNEGAN of Milwaukee, Mrs. Wm. FLYNN of Alta Vista, Mrs. Lizzie RAGEN of York, N.D., M.A. and Charles at home, Thomas of Lawler, Mrs. Hugh KING of near Lawler, John of Lawler.

There are thirty-three grand children.

The deceased was one of our county’s best and most highly respected citizens. His life has been long, busy and useful. He has reared a monument to his credit while he lived in the hearts of his children, relatives and friends. His life work was completed and he passed away as one going with a knowledge of having done his duty well.

Sympathy is extended to those left to mourn his death.

Contributor’s Notes: Edward’s living children were Mrs. Luke (Mary) HEATHERTON, Mrs. Hugh (Ella) KING, Mrs. William (Roseann) FLYNN, Mrs. John (Catherine) THOMPSON, Bernard Frances FINNEGAN, Thomas FINNEGAN, John Edward FINNEGAN, Mrs. Lizzie RAGEN, Joseph Patrick FINNEGAN, Michael A. FINNEGAN, Charles Patrick FINNEGAN, and James Henry FINNEGAN. Edward was preceded in death by his infant daughter Loretta FINNEGAN in 1894 and Cora FINNEGAN in 1909.
