The New Hampton Tribune records the death of a former Cresco resident, Joel B. Sherman, at his home near Devon, where he had made his home for nearly sixty years with the exception of nine years spent in Cresco. His wife died in 1915 and he leaves three children, Mrs. Addie Sheffield, of California, Mae E. and C. H. Sherman at home

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born June 29, 1835 and died Oct. 22, 1917. He is buried in the New Hampton Cemetery.
