CHARLES G. TOWER.
Died, at his home in Sisseton, S. D., Thursday, July{?} 22, of tuberculosis, Charles G. Tower, aged 50{?} years, 2 months and 21 days.
Charles Tower was born in Henry county, Ohio, April 1, 1840. When quite young he went with his parents to Wheatland, Wis., at which place he decided to lead a Christian life and united with the Free Will Baptist Church, a step which he never regretted. He was married in 1862 to Mary A. Pierson, and two years later came with his wife to Iowa, in which state they remained until 1896, when they moved to Sisseton, S. D., making it their home at that place up to the time of Mr. Tower’s death.
For several years the deceased, with his family, lived in Nashua, and by his sterling honesty and his uprightness he won the esteem of a large circle of friends, and the confidence and respect of all. He was genial and friendly to everybody, always willing to sacrifice his own pleasures for the good of others.
For several years prior to his death he was more or less troubled with a cough, and during the last year the disease had become so serious as to prevent him doing any work.
The remains were brought to Nashua last Saturday and the funeral services held in the Congregational Church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Barrett officiating, and all that was mortal of a kindly man was laid at rest in Greenwood. He leaves a widow, two sons Arthur and Ralph, who are now located at Sisseton, and one daughter, Mrs. H. M. Walleser, who have the sympathy of their large following of friends
