JOSIAH P. HARSH
Josiah P. Harsh, 82, died Thursday afternoon at his home in Nashua. He had been in poor health for some time.
Mr. Harsh, who was born at Milford, Jefferson county, Wis., Feb. 8, 1854, had been a resident of this community for about 12 years.
He came here from Oklahoma, to care for his sisters, Mesdames Sarah Patterson and Lou Crawford, and a couple of years later, was married to Mrs. Adilla Cook, who survives him.
Mr. Harsh was a farmer in Oklahoma, having secured a farm there in the famous land rush. His first wife died there, and two daughters survive him, Mesdames L. A. Williams and W. M. H. Miller, both of Billings, Okla.
Three step-children also survive: Mrs. E. I. Hall, of Waterloo, who helped care for him during his last illness; John L. Cook of Seattle, Wash., and Earl D. Cook, of Nashua.
Despite his advanced age, Mr. Harsh has been able to read without glasses, until his eyesight failed him just a few weeks prior to his death.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 2:00 p. m. at Lundt’s funeral chapel, Rev. H. N. Murphy of the Assembly of God officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood cemetery.
A nephew of Mr. Harsh, John R. Bradley and wife, of Monroe, Wis., were here to attend the funeral.
