ALBERT CARL DIEKMANN RITES HELD

Funeral services were held on Friday, September 1, 1967 at 2 PM for Albert Carl Diekmann, 68, who died of a sudden heart attack at his home at 1:30 AM Wednesday, August 30. Rev. Rohde officiated at the services at Trinity Lutheran Church and burial was in the Boyd Cemetery. Larkin-Martin Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Pallbearers were William Dagit, Earl Speicher, Leo Haus, Jessie Rose, Linus Bodensteiner and Claude Burke.

Jack Kendall sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Rock of Ages" accompanied by Linda Fenneman at the organ.

Albert Diekmann was born February 23, 1899 at Boyd, the son of August and Augusta Diekmann. He attended the Boyd School and made his home in that area. One June 5, 1928, he was married to Hulda Rose Schuchhardt in Greeley, Colorado. They lived near New Hampton, where he lived until his death. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Darlene, 16, three sisters, Mrs. Minna Schuchhardt, Omaha, Nebraska, Mrs. Carl Timm of New Hampton and Mrs. Augusta Grimsby of Minneapolis. He was proceded in death by his parents and a brother, Fred.

Relatives and friends from Algona, Omaha, Minneapolis, California, Waterloo, Lawler, Fredericksburg, Wadena, Alta Vista and Charles City attended the funeral.

NOTES:

1. He died on August 30, 1967
2. His wife, Hulda Rose Schuchhardt, was his half cousin. Thus, they were married in Colorado verses being married in Iowa where it was unlawful to marry your half cousin.
