Two Drowned in Clear Lake.
Clear Lake. June 27.—F. A. McMullen, a traveling man of New Hampton, was drowned while fishing in the lake last evening. His unoccupied boat was discovered about 8 o’clock. The finder seeing the fish pole floating beside the boat lifted it up and discovered that the hook was attached to something heavy, and by pulling cautiously he lifted the weight to the surface of the water when he saw the lifeless form. Mr. McMullen had been here several days. He was suffering severely from a cancer of the stomach and was very nervous and greatly discouraged. He was sober, industrious sad highly respected. He leaves a wife and three children. This is the second case of drowning here this week.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born July 2, 1852 and died June 26, 1896. He is buried in the New Hampton Cemetery.
