Shoots Wife, Children and Self.
Elma, Ia. July 4—Leslie Miller, a farmer living near Devon, shot and killed his wife, two children and then committed suicide yesterday afternoon. A long standing family feud is said to have caused the crime.
Miller murdered his children, Lillian, aged 9, and Victor, aged 8, drove to New Hampton, where his wife had been taken for medical treatment a few days before, and after engaging her in conversation, without warning drew a revolver and shot her twice, through the head and neck. She died within an hour.
Before neighbors could interfere, Miller walked around the house, and shot himself through the head, dying instantly.Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Mount Carroll Cemetery in Bassett and was born in 1878.
