—New Hampton papers of last week report the killing on his ranch near Porterville, Cal. of J. N. Cornell, on the 26th ult. Mr. Cornell was an old resident of Chickasaw county, and was quite well known throughout northern Iowa as a horseman, who cultivated running horses and traveled fair circuits. That he was murdered seems to be clear from the attendant circumstances.
