Edmund W. Davis died at New Hampton Dec. 14th, aged 75 years past. Born in Long Island, N. Y. in 1828, he came to Wisconsin in 1850 and in 1855 worked on the U. S. government survey. This led him to enter 2000 acres of land in Chickasaw County, and after marriage in 1856 he came to live on a farm he made in Stapleton township where he lived for forty years, or until 1896, when he moved into New Hampton.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in the New Hampton Cemetery and was born on October 8, 1828.
