Obituary

GIESE — At the home of his daughter, Mrs. Julius Brummond, Dec. 13. 1901, Carl Giese aged 78 years.

Deceased was born at Jarchlln, Province of Pommern Germany, Nov. 23, 1823. He came to this country In 1890 to be near his children and has since lived in this county except for a short time spent with his son at Watertown, Wisconsin. He leaves five children, one of whom is still in Germany. His wife died about five years ago.

He was a good husband and father and a man possessed of the sterling qualities which win respect. The funeral was held at the German Congregational church on Monday, Rev. Zumstein, his pastor, conducting the services. The family has the sincere sympathy of many friends.
