NEW HAMPTON - Margaret A. Williams, 90, died Friday morning, Feb. 4 at Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton, of natural causes.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 7 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Hampton, with Rev. Carl Schmitt celebrating the Mass. The pall was placed on the casket by her nephew and three nieces. Music for the service was provided by Ann Bennett as organist and Rose Baltes as cantor. Greg Clites, a great-nephew, was the lector.

Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Hampton, with Gary Vikdal, Carol Hageman, Bruce Flatjord, Linda Johnson, Lori Carson and Kathy Wylam as pallbearers.

Margaret was born June 2, 1909, the daughter of Arthur M. and Bridge (Carmody) Clites. She attended school in Brooklyn. She later became employed by USF & G Insurance Company in Des Moines.

In 1955 sne married Roger Williams. Mr. Williams died a year and a half after their marriage. Margaret continued her employment with USF & G and had been transferred with the company to Omaha, San Francisco and later back to Des Moines where she retired from the company around 1971.

She moved to New Hampton in 1972 to be near heT family. In September of 1996 she became a resident at the New Hampton Care Center.

Memberships included St. Ambrose Cathedral in Des Moines and St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Hampton, the New Hampton Senior Citizens and Hawkeye Valley Area Aging. Margaret enjoyed playing Bridge, walking, and will oe remembered for her sense of humor.

Survivors include one nephew, Bob (Geri) Clites, New Hampton; three nieces, Lorraine (Neal), Flatjord, Joan (Charles) Vikdal, Lawler and Lucille (Vernon) Johnson, Rochester, MN; several great-nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Roger; her parents; and two brothers, Leonard and Ronald Clites.
