Mrs. Mary Snowden, at the advanced age of 91 years, 5 months, and 25 days, died at the home of her son-in-law, Joshua Welker, east of Nashua, on Tuesday.

Mary Barrel was born in Biabrook, England, on May 18, 1808. In 1838 she was married to Joseph Snowden, coming with him to America in 1844. They located in Wisconsin, where the husband died. Later she married her husband's brother, George, who died in 1859. In 1865 she came to Iowa with her daughter, with whom she made her home up until the time of her death. In early life she decided to lead a Christian life and united with the M. E. church. Her long life was full of good deeds, and she made many friends who, while mourning her departure from this world, rejoice that in her eternal home she is with the Christ, whose teachings she followed while on earth.

The funeral was held from the home in which she died, this morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. Sutton officiating, and the remains were interred in Greenwood Cemetery.
