Joseph S. Burzee Dead.
From the New Hampton papers we learn of the death of J.S. Burzee, one of early settlers of Bethel twp. in this county. He was born in Cattarangus county, New York, Juno 28, 1835. In the early '70s he was caught out in a blizzard and was so badly frozen that both feet had to be amputated. For several years he drove a merchandise wagon about the country, and in late years he had a Racket Store in Elma. He was in failing health for some time but was taken worse at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fisk, in Waterloo. He grew weaker continually and passed away on Friday, Dec. 22, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ida Ridgewell in Elma.

The body was brought to New Hampton Sunday for burial, the services being conducted at the cemetery by Rev. D.M. Parker.

He is survived by two daughters who too have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
