Obituary for Lynn Zubrod

Lynn Zubrod age 60 of Nashua, Iowa, died Friday, December 11, 2015, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, JANUARY 11, 2016, at the Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home - Olson Chapel in Nashua with Rev. Ken Glaser presiding. Private family interment will take place at a later date.

Friends may greet the family beginning at 9:00 a.m. on the day of the service.

If so desired, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Lynn Michael Zubrod was born June 16, 1955, in Charles City, Iowa, the son of Virgil and Margaret (Glaser) Zubrod. He received his education in Nashua graduating from the Nashua High School in 1973. Following high school, Lynn enlisted in the United States navy where he served for several years until he was honorably discharged. He then began working as a civil servant for a government contractor for near thirty years. In 1994 he was united in marriage to Karaline Olivia-Ann Simon. Karaline passed away in 2008. In 2012, Lynn moved back to Iowa living outside Nashua for the last five years. He loved to spend time on the computer, go fishing and was able to fix about anything. He said he was ‘a jack-of-all-trades and master-of none’.

Survivors include one daughter, Michele (Michael) Tate of Fairmont, WV; a step-son, Richard N. Loyko of Ft. Worth, TX; a step-daughter, Troy Windland of Logan, OH; companion, Rebecca Goldstein of Nashua; two brothers, James Zubrod and Glen (Susan) Zubrod, all of Nashua; one sister, Joan (Arnold) Ballew of Edmund, OK; a brother-in-law, Tristan Simon of Dallas, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
