Madonna M. Carolan, 87, of Apache Junction, Ariz., formerly of Charles City and Lawler, died Monday, April 18, 2016, at the Senior Haven Assisted Living Home in Apache Junction.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 27 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City with the Rev. Gary Mayer celebrating the Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City.
Friends may greet the family an hour prior to the Mass at the church on Wednesday.

Madonna Mae Carolan was born June 6, 1929, in New Hampton, the daughter of John and Sarah (Carpenter) Brown.
She received her education in New Hampton graduating from the New Hampton High School in 1947. On Oct. 24, 1949, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in New Hampton, she married Francis T. Carolan. To this union four children were born. The couple initially farmed near Waucoma and Lawler before purchasing their Charles City farm in 1970. In their younger days, Frank and Madonna enjoyed going to dances throughout northeast Iowa. Madonna also worked for many years at the former White Farm Equipment Company and for Floyd County Home Health.
She loved her garden, especially the flowers and tomatoes. Her favorite time was that which she spent with her ever-growing family.
Survivors include one son, John (Marianne) Carolan of Charles City; three daughters, Carolee (Terry) Stufflebeam of Apache Junction, Ariz., Joannie (Orlo) Njus of Waverly, Linda Taddonio of St. Paul, Minn.; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Feb. 19, 2011; by two grandchildren, Ryan Holschlag and Jennifer Carolan; and by one brother, Edwin Brown.
