Thomas Eugene “Tom” was born on July 7, 1941 in New Hampton, Iowa, to Harry and Elaine (Ball) Trewin. He attended and graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1960. Upon graduating Tom began working for Hydrotile Machinery in Nashua until 1991 when he began his own business, Trewin Pumping Service; retiring in 2014.
On October 26, 1963, Tom was united in marriage to Mary Streif at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. The couple made their home in rural Fredericksburg where they raised their two children, David and Julie.
Tom was a great mechanic and had a passion for collecting antique tractors and antique gas engines along with other treasures. From cultivating as a child on his IH F12 until he passed, Tom had a love for all Farmall International Harvester machinery and could always be recognized for his IH attire. His laughter could brighten any room and had a great sense of humor.
Tom was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Fredericksburg Power Association.
Left to cherish Tom’s memory are his loving wife of 52 years, Mary Trewin of Fredericksburg, IA; his children, David Trewin of Fredericksburg and Julie (Kent) Hoppe of Jesup, IA; his grandchildren, Matthew, Mitchell and Jaimie and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bill Trewin.
