Miss Ida Fitzsimmons, 62 of 2539 Jefferson avenue, assistant superintendent of Ogden city schools, died in a local hospital at twelve-thirty a.m. today of a heart affliction. She had been ill since last November and unable to be at her office, but had been in the hospital less than a week.

Miss Fitzsimmons was born in Claremont [sic], Iowa, June 17, 1872, a daughter of John and Elizabeth Bowen [Bohan] Fitzsimmons. Her early schooling was obtained in Claremont and Lawler, Iowa, following which she attended Teachers' college in Cedar Falls, Iowa and University of Iowa in Iowa City. She taught school in Lawler and Marshalltown, Iowa, and afterward she taught in Salt Lake City for more than 10 years. On coming to Ogden nearly 16 years ago she assumed the duties of primary supervisor and assistant superintendent, which position she had since held. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church and Women's Catholic League.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. G.E. Usher of Salt Lake City, two nephews, Basil M. and Howard Taylor, Salt Lake City, and another nephew, Harold Taylor, Ogden.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning at ten o'clock in St. Joseph's church with the Rev. Patrick F. Kennedy as celebrant of the requiem mass. Immediately following the services the body will be taken to Salt Lake City for interment in Mt. Calvary cemetery. The rosary will be recited Thursday evening at eight o'clock at the chapel of the Kirkendall-Darling mortuary. Friends may call at the mortuary chapel only between the hours of three and nine p.m. Thursday.
