NEW HAMPTON - Mary M. Rethamel, 81, of New Hampton, èdied at home Monday, Aug. 22, 2005.

She was born Aug. 14, 1924, in St. Lucas, daughter of Otto and Anna Kleinkemper Setter. She married Edward Barloon on May 7, 1945, in St. Lucas. He died July 27, 1960. On July 1, 1961, she married Reed Rethamel in New Hampton. He died Sept. 17, 1991.

Survivors include two sons, Edward (Debbie) Barloon of Apple Valley, Minn., and Bill Barloon of Virginia Beach, Va.; three daughters, Shirley (Jim) Poynter of Stillwater, Minn., Patty (Rick) Rangel of Grass Valley, Calif., and Barbara Rethamel of New Hampton; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by four sisters, Elizabeth Blong, Cecile Mitchell, Colette Pagni and Catherine Sutter; and four brothers, Ferdinand, Al, Joe and Gerhard Sutter.

Services: 6 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Parish-St. Josephs Center, New Hampton, with private family burial in Calvary Cemetery on Thursday. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, New Hampton, with a 4 p.m. rosary and a 4:15 p.m. Scripture service. Visitation also from 5:30 p.m. until services Wednesday at the church.
