New Hampton, Ia.—Funeral services were in New Hampton Tuesday for. J. S. Thoreson, young businessman who was killed Saturday night when his automobile skidded into a bridge seven miles south of here on Highway 59. His brother-in-law, Morris Ugland, also in the car, was uninjured.
Thoreson graduated from the Zumbrbta High School in 1918 and attended an electrical engineering school in Chicago, for a year. In April, 1922, he purchased a confectionary store here and on Aug. 6, 1922, married Miss Martha Ugland of Kenyon, Minn., who, with their four-year-old daughter, survives. He was 32 years old.
Services were held at the Methodist church here at 2 p.m. Business houses closed during the services. Rev. Robert Davies, pastor, was in charge of the services. Services were at Zumbrota, Minn., Wednesday afternoon and interment was there.
Pallbearers here were Harland Galligan, Peter Willadsen, Peter Attleson, Howard David, Jolm Sandusky, jr., and George Uglum, all of New-Hampton.
