Arthur Gustav Axberg was born February 9, 1925, in Polk, Nebraska, the son of Karl and Louise (Anderson) Axberg. In 1946, Arthur moved to Iowa from Illinois; during the move he made 17 trips between the states to transport the machinery and establish the family farm. On April 28, 1978, he married Lorraine Huebner at St. John Lutheran Church in Fredericka.
Arthur lived and spent much of his time on the family farm, where he was devoted to his cattle and crops. Each year Arthur and Lorraine took pride in a beautiful vegetable and flower garden.
