Obituary for Jeffrey L. Paxson--

Jeffrey Lynn Paxson age 46 of Ionia died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the United Methodist Church, Nashua, with Pastor Okitakoyi Lundula officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery with Gary Taylor, Todd Funke, David Weuve, Mark Deshong, John Jenkins and Bernie Waltemayer serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pall Bearers are Bob Metz, Butch Mead, Bruno, John Six, Glen Nosbisch, Curt Scoles and Gene Goss.

Friends may greet the family 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday April 9, 2012, at Hugeback – Johnson Funeral Home in Nashua. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Tuesday.

Jeffrey Lynn Paxson was born October 15, 1965 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Richard and Reita (Triplett) Paxson. He graduated from West Marshall High School in 1984. On March 16, 1991, at The Little Brown Church in Nashua he married Anna Scoles. To this union two children were born.

Jeff spent many years working in the plumbing and heating business in Chickasaw County. Moving on to new endeavors he spent several years constructing grain bins for Holschlag Bin Sales. Jeff then decided to focus his career path towards being a machinist working with computerized numerical controlled (CNC) machines, and going to work for Ameritech south of New Hampton. After a few years he moved on to a new employer Tri-Mark of New Hampton where he continued to operate the CNC machine.

Jeff had a passion for hand-sewn leatherwork and was a perfectionist when it came to his work. He created picture frames, clocks, saddlebags, and many other items out of leather. After spending many hours creating and finishing his leather projects, Jeff enjoyed selling his projects at flea markets, and swap meets.

Every spring he enjoyed hunting for morel mushrooms around the area. Jeff was working towards his goal of being a Harley Davidson owner. Spending time with his family and animals was something very important to him.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Anna; one daughter Katelyn Paxson of Ionia; four sons, Jonathon Paxson of Ionia, Justin Maier of Sioux Falls, SD, Jared Paxson of Mountain Home, AK, Andrew Paxson of Mountain Home, AK; two sisters Cindy (Rick) Ward of State Center, Iowa, Tammi (Rusty) Ryan of Pasadena, MD, his mother Reita (Willard) Acord of State Center, Iowa, his father Richard Paxson, grandmother Ruby Richeson of Marshalltown, Iowa, and several half brothers and sisters; three grandchildren Alexandria, Michael, and Serenity Paxson.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and his best friend “Bear”.
