Obituary for Jo Ann Rindels--

Jo Ann Rindels, age 72, of Nashua, Iowa, died Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home in Nashua with Pastor Linda Myren presiding. Interment will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City.

Friends may greet the family 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 2, 2012, at Hugeback-Johnson Funeral Home in Nashua. Visitation continues an hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.

If so desired, memorials may be made to Chickasaw County SNAP program or the Humane Society.

Jo Ann Rindels was born April 11, 1940, in Waverly, Iowa, the daughter of John and Arlene (Avery) Yost. She received he education in Shell Rock, Iowa, and was a graduate of the Shell Rock High School.

She was united in marriage to Vernon Rindels. The couple owned and operated the Cedar Valley Game Farm near Plainfield, Iowa, for many years. Jo Ann was a waitress at many restaurants in the area including the Red Fox and later retired as the manager of the Star Clipper Dinner Train. Vernon Rindels died on July 14, 2003, at the age of 71. Jo Ann loved the outdoors, animals, fishing and gardening. She enjoyed hunting and collecting rocks. She will be remembered by her family for her great sense of humor.

Survivors include one daughter, Sherri (Jack) Willey of Shell Rock; one son, Lance (Cindy) Rindels of New Hartford; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Bob (Renee) Yost, Kenny (Dixie) Yost all of Shell Rock; one brother-in-law, Ray Rosol of Waverly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Janet Rosol.
