Suzanne R. Testroet, age 56, of Vadnais Heights, Minnesota formerly of Ionia, Iowa died Sunday June 6, 2010 at English House, Phoenix Residence in Vadnais Heights.
Suzanne Regina Testroet was born April 12, 1954 at St. Josephs Hospital in New Hampton to Leon and Madonna (Jenn) Testroet.
She lived her life in Ionia, Iowa until the age of 18 when she went to live at Comprehensive Systems in Charles City, Iowa. From there, she moved to St. Paul, Minnesota and became a resident of Phoenix Residence. For the last 10 years, she has lived at the English House in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota.
Suzanne had a love for every person she encountered. She never met a stranger, only best friends. She loved her coffee, fishing, country music, going to camp and her many, many trips to Branson, Missouri. Mostly, she loved her family and friends. She had great concern for other people and loved being a part of the Phoenix family.
Suzanne is survived by her brother, Michael and sister-in-law, Sue of Cedar Falls; sister, Mary Chaney of Geneva, Nebraska; nephews, Shane and Marty Testroet, Duane and David Dahlstrom; nieces, Nancy Chaney and Sharon Chapman; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Suzanne is preceded in death by her parents.
Sue had many other people in her life that cared for her, her extended family in Minnesota; Diane Berg and her family, Linda Byrne and her family, and many, many staff that cared for Sue throughout her life. Sue valued them all.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery in Ionia. Honorary casket bearers will be Diane Berg, Linda and Jim Byrne, Chris Barrett, Steve Barrett, and Sandy Calhoun. Serving as active casket bearers will be Shane Testroet, Marty Testroet, Duane Dahlstrom, David Dahlstrom, Sharon Chapman, and Nancy Chaney.
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00pm on Tuesday June 8, 2010, with a scriptural wake service at 7:00pm at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton, Iowa. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30am on Wednesday June 9, 2010 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Ionia, Iowa with Msgr. Carl Schmitt officiating.
