Maude Millard (Ackley) Huffman – June 9, 1880 – May 18, 1948
MRS. H. HUFFMAN DIED LAST NIGHT
Mrs. Homer Huffman passed away at her home in Nashua on Tuesday evening, May 18th, at 10:30. Mrs. Huffman suffered a stroke on the 11th of May after having been in poor health.
The former Maude Ackley, she and Mrs. Huffman would have celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary on May 22nd. A complete obituary will be published in next week’s issue of the Reporter.
Mrs. Huffman is survived by her husband and one grandson, Danny Fritcher. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Edith, Mrs. Dale Fritcher. The body is at the Chenowith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Little Brown Church at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Hanscorn in charge. Burial will be in Chickasaw Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Homer Huffman, 67, who died at her home in Nashua, Tuesday, May 18th, were held at the Little Brown Church Friday afternoon. Rev. F. L Hanscom, pastor, officiating.
Pall bearers were Richard Chandler, Ed Dana, John Cagley, W. G. Olson, C. C.Rriordad and Glen Van Kleck. Mrs. C. A. Hoon sang, accompanied by Mrs. F. L. Hanscom. Burial was in the Chickasaw Cemetery. The following obituary was read at the funeral services.
Maude Millard Ackley was born June 9, 1880, in Chickasaw County, Iowa, the eldest child of Marion and Harriet Stevens Ackley. She passed away at her home in Nashua on May 18, 1948, at the age of 67 years, 14 months, and 21 days.
On May 22, 1898, she was united in marriage to Homer b. Huffman, after which they resided on different farms in this community until the spring of 1942, at which time they moved to Nashua, living there at the time of her death.
T this union was born one daughter, Edith, Mrs Dale Fritcher, who preceded her mother in death.
She is survived by her husband, one grandson Daniel Fritcher, Yankton, South Dakota, and two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Orms, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Mrs. Helen Warfield, Juneau, Alaska. One sister, Mrs. Blanche Huffman passed away in 1933.
She will also be remembered by the host of friends with whom she has been associated in the several communities in which she has lived.In her youth she joined the Baptist Church at Chickasaw, being a faithful member until moving to Nashua, when she transferred her membership to the Little Brown Church, being member of this church at the time of her death.
