Obituary for Timothy P. Bennett

Timothy P. Bennett age 60 formerly of Nashua, Iowa, passed away Friday, August 30, 2013, in Sun City, California, succumbing to cancer after a nine-month illness.

A graveside service will be held at the St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery in Nashua on September 18, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Hugeback Johnson Funeral Home - Olson Chapel - Nashua is entrusted with arrangements.

Tim was born in Waverly, Iowa to Richard J. Bennett Jr. and Helene Bennett on February 25, 1953. He grew up in Nashua, Iowa where he attended school and where he graduated in 1971. Tim then attended vocational school in Waterloo where he trained for architectural drafting and went to work at an architectural firm in Waterloo, Iowa. He later worked for building contractor before moving to Denver, Colorado in 1991 where he worked for a building supply company.

The last thirteen years of his life were spent in Southern California as a maintenance manager for two large apartment complexes. Tim has been remembered fondly and with great admiration by the many tenants that he helped with their maintenance needs and also by his co-workers. He was known for his quiet and kind demeanor and gentle approach when helping others.

Surviving Tim are his father Richard Bennett Jr. and step mother Merle Bennett of Nashua, Iowa, his sister Connie Halter and spouse Ted Halter of Mankato, Minnesota, and his step brothers Lynn Doyle of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Larry Doyle and spouse Jan Doyle of Pine City, Minnesota, and step sister, Lorene Hirsch of Nashua, Iowa.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Helene Bennett and his brother, John Bennett.
