Funeral Services Tuesday P.M. For Reuben E. Babcock.

Funeral services for Reuben E. Babcock, 81, retired newspaper owner and printer, were held at 2:00 p. m. Tuesday in Perry's Chapel with the Rev. Herbert C. Shaffer, pastor of the Methodist church officiating. Mrs. Kenneth Hibbs and Mrs. Peter Willadsen, Jr., sang "Rock of Ages" and "Nearer My God To Thee" accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Peter Heintz.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery with six Odd Fellows as pall bearers, Bryce Timm, Kenneth Hibbs, , Roy Beck, Jacob Jacobsen, Felton Cleveland and Fred Markle. The Odd Fellows were in charge of the services at the grave.

Odd Fellow and Rebekahs attended the services in bodies and the Rebekahs served lunch at the home after the services.

The Economist-Tribune office was closed during the time of the services, in respect to Mr. Babcock.

Mr. Babcock died at 10:10 p. m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Hospital, following five weeks of hospitalization. He was taken ill five weeks ago in Heber Springs, Ark. while visiting friends and was flown here three weeks ago by air ambulance and had since been a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital. Death was attributed to complications incident to advanced age. He had been in failing health for several years.

Babcock, Mrs. and Mrs. Geo. Evans and Mrs. Jack Armstrong of Waterloo; Mrs. Marjorie Williams and Mrs. William Johnstone, Johnstone of Dubuque; Mrs. Maude Hurd and Arthur of Waucoma; Mr. James O. Babcockof Paraguay, S. A.; Mrs. Robert Fratwell of Bakersfield, Calif; Vern Babcock of Fredericksburg and Helen Gertrude Fantz of Japan.
