July 31, 1936 - November 15, 2013

Glory A. Anderson age 77 of New Hampton, Iowa died Friday evening, November 15, 2013, at the Linn Haven Rehab and Healthcare Center in New Hampton.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton with Pastor Kevin Frey presiding. Dennis Strum will be the organist and vocalist accompanying the congregation.

Interment will be in the Spring Valley Cemetery, Spring Valley, Minnesota, with Matt Anderson, Mark Anderson, Dave Dooley, Christopher Anderson and Don Darvo as pallbearers.

Friends may greet the family an hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Glory Ann Anderson was born July 31, 1936, in Rochester, Minnesota, the daughter of Roy and Stella (Drury) Darbo. She received her education in Spring Valley, Minnesota, and graduated from the Spring Valley High School in 1954.

On June 18, 1955, in Spring Valley, Minnesota, she married Donald Anderson. To this union four children were born. In 1963, the Andersons made New Hampton their home where Glory raised her growing family. The couple later divorced.

Glory was very active during the years she spent in New Hampton. She served in many church activities and was also involved in the Republican Party, having served as a district and state delegate. She loved reading, especially Garrison Keillor. She also enjoyed listening to radio programs. Glory loved walking, dancing, skiing and a good hot cup of coffee! Her family and friends will miss her loving and caring ways.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen Anderson of Dallas, Texas, and Dr. Maria (Dave) Dooley of Bettendorf, Iowa; two sons, Dr. Mark (Dr. Margaret Young) Anderson of Knoxville, Tennessee and Dr. Matt (Benita) Anderson of Lenoir City, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Meghan (Nolan) Caudill, Christopher Anderson, Jonathan Anderson, Peter Anderson, Jamie (Bonnie) Hulbert; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Don Darbo of Rochester, Minnesota, Ronnie Darbo of Mondovi, Wisconsin; one sister, Patsy (Elwin) Bendickson of Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin; one sister-in-law, Judy Darbo of Hemet, California; many niece and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Darbo.
