Marjorie Mae (Binning) Schult was born August 11, 1923 in Greeley, Iowa to Bernice (Hindal) and Ralph Binning. Marge grew up on the farm, played forward on the Randalia basketball team and was the only member of her family to graduate from high school in Randalia, Iowa. She met the love of her life, Bill Schult in 1940 at a dance in Sumner. Marge and Bill were married September 27, 1941 in Kahoka, Missouri.

Married for nearly 72 years, they had seven children; Bill and Joyce Schult of Eagan, Minnesota, Jack and Marcia Schult of Fredericksburg, Karen and Ted Steege of Fredericksburg, Sharon and Bob Hilmer of Winfield, Mike, deceased, and Linda Schult of Denver, Iowa, Barb and Ron Kane of Fredericksburg and Rick and Deb Schult of Ackley. Marge was grandma to 24 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren.

Marge was a busy woman with seven kids to feed and care for, farm work to be done and part time jobs to help support her family. She was a wonderful cook, baker and canner of food to keep her family well fed.

After moving off the farm, Marge and Bill opened the Schult Café and Lounge in Fredericksburg where Marge had the reputation for making the best home cooked breakfasts and lunches on all of Highway 18. Marge and Bill also owned and operated Bill’s Pub for a number of years as well.

She enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she was so very proud of each of them. Marge enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeye men’s basketball team and playing a game of Euchre with the Fredericksburg Euchre Club, friends and most importantly, her family.

Marge will always be remembered for the love she had and gave to her husband and family. She shared the last day of her life with her family enjoying the traditional Schult Family Christmas at the Sumner Community Hospital.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill on September 25, 2013; son, Michael Schult; and grandsons, Brady Schult and Rickey Kane.
