Funeral services for Cleone Mae Waterman, age five, who died Wednesday, April 17 at Mercy hospital, Waverly, were held Saturday, April 20 at the Kaiser funeral home in Waverly with Rev. W.O. Ecklor officiating. Internment was made at Fremont township cemetery, near Tripoli.

Death came from complications following and attack of scarlet fever. She had been sick only a few days.

Cleone was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Waterman, who live on a farm near Janesville, and was born in Tripoli July 9, 1934. She attended the kindergarten school at Waverly and the Janesville consolidated. She was a member of the primary class in the Methodist Sunday School, Waverly.

Surviving are her parents, two brothers, Darrel, seven, Arlin, three and one sister, Barbara Ann, two; grandparents, William Hunemueller of Cedar Falls, and Mr. and Mrs. Cal Waterman of near Frederika.

Casket bears were Joyce Ackmann, Marlys Ackmann, Betty Strotmann and Shirley Reinhardt.
Out-of-town friends and relatives attending the funeral were William Hunemueller, Mr. and Mrs. D.W. Hunemueller, Mr. and Mrs. Cal Waterman, Lloyd and Everett, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rettig and family of Sumner, Louise Waterman, Waterloo, Rosa Lee of Waverly, Mr. and Mrs. August Hunemueller, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hunemueller, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hunemueller, and Mr. and Mrs. F.C. Hackbarth.
