Harold C. Holschlag, age 86 died Friday, January 15 at St. Joseph Community Hospital in New Hampton.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 18 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Hampton with Father Donald Bakewell officiating. Placing the pall and gift bearers were Richard Holschlag and Marilee Richardson. Lector was Wilfred Wanderscheid. Ann Bennett was organist and accompanied the St. Mary’s Funeral Choir.

Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery with Tom Holschlag, Allen, Norman and Melvin Heit, Randy Brummond and Larry Fankhauser serving as casket bearers.

Harold C. Holschlag was born January 2, 1907 in New Hampton, the son of Theodore and Rose (Demuth) Holschlag. He attended school in New Hampton. On November 28, 1935, he was married to Lorraine Heit at St. Mary’s Church. They farmed on the Holschlag family farm most of their married life. He was a member of St. Mary’s church.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine, New Hampton; one son, Richard and wife, Rose, New Hampton; one daughter, Marilee and husband, Roy Richardson, Knoxville; nice grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents’ a daughter, Ann Marie Holschlag in 1979; one brother, Carl.

Visitation was held Sunday at Conway Funeral Home where there was a Rosary Society rosary at 4 p.m., a Catholic Daughter rosary at 7 p.m., parish scripture service at 7:30 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 8 p.m.
