William Crossman

After many weeks of weary suffering, William Crossman passed away at his home in this city on Sunday evening, death resulting from a complication of diseases.

Mr. Crossman had been in poor health for many years past but for several weeks had been confined to his home, and most of the time to his bed. He suffered intensely and almost constantly, but he bore his pain with remarkable patience.

William Crossman was born at Leicester, N. Y., Feb. 14, 1843. He was married to Miss Evira A. Clark, Nov. 15, 1868, and the following year came to Iowa, settling at Floyd. In 1871 he came to Nashua, which place had been his home until claimed in death.

His death is mourned by a wife and four children, one daughter, Mrs. Walter Parrish, of Thornton, and three sons, William of Sioux City, Albert, of Charles City, and Harry, of Nashua.

The deceased was highly respected in the community where his home has been for the past thirty-five years, and was a beloved husband and father in the home from which he was called. The funeral was held at the M. E. church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Piper officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in Oak Hill cemetery.
