Phyllis M. Felder age 76, of Winsted, MN, formerly of Alta Vista, IA, died on Friday, October 16, 2009 at St. Mary's Care Center in Winsted.

Phyllis Mae Felder was born on September 20, 1933 to Victor and June (Ritter) Johnson in Nashua, IA. Phyllis attended and graduated from Alta Vista Public School. After graduation she was employed as a telephone operator in Mason City, Charles City and later in Alta Vista. Phyllis was united in marriage to Bernard James Felder on February 14, 1955 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Alta Vista. After their marriage the couple lived south west of Alta Vista where they farmed and raised their six children. Phyllis drove school bus for the New Hampton School District for 28 years retiring in 1998. In their retirement, the couple wintered in Arizona.

Phyllis enjoyed and had a great love for being with family and friends. She loved traveling, watching sports, playing cards, preparing food for family events and being in Arizona’s warm weather.

Phyllis is survived by six children; Mitchell (Pat) of Carthage, NC, Scott (Lynn) of Mankato, MN, Kent (Rhonda) of Lakeville, MN, Jeff (Sue) of Oelwein, IA, Vicki (Neal) Meirick of Pasadena, MD, and Tracy (Roxanne) of Winsted, MN; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; one sister Betty (Al) Manning of Colwell.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernard on September 29, 2006 and two brothers; Donald and Melvin Johnson of Alta Vista.

Visitation:

There will be a time to greet Phyllis's family from 12:00 pm to the time of the service on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Alta Vista.

Service:

A memorial mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at St. Bermard's Catholic Church in Alta Vista, IA with Father Ray Atwood and Father Tony Hesse saying mass.

Cemetery:

Burial will be at a later date.
