Robert Elliott, 82, Was Native of England

Robert Elliott died at his home in Greenwood, east of Nashua Saturday morning, Feb. 27th at the age of 82.

He was born in Ebberston, England, Nov 1, 1854.
He was united in marriage to Jane Blades of Hutton Bushel, Yorkshire, England, Mar. 7, 1874, who preceded him in death Mar. 5, 1919. They set sail for America Aug. 15, 1892, settling in Illinois for a period of about 14 years. They moved to Iowa in 1908.

He was known by many friends in this community.
There were 15 children born to this union. Nine survive, together with 23 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

On September 5, 1922 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Fanny Ruble of this community, who survives him.

The surviving children are: William Elliott, Hammond, Ind.; James Elliott, Waterloo; Mrs. L.H. Mann, Chicago; Leonard Blades Elliott, Chicago; Thomas Elliott, Charles City; Robert Elliott, Waterloo; Frederick Elliott, Chicago; Mrs. Sam Holt, Chicago, and Mrs. Ruth Buri of Cedar Rapids.
He was a member of the Primitive Methodist church of Windsor Park, Illinois.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, at the Methodist Activity Building. Rev. Earl Hodgkin officiating, and burial was made in Greenwood Cemetery.
