The 64th Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Owen P. Hammond, rural Ionia, will be Saturday and they plan to observe the event at the 11th Street Chautauqua Home where he is presently a guest. Mrs. Hammond is the former Iva Hayden. The couple were married the evening of March 28, 1906 in the old town of Chickasaw. They have no family. Hammond traveled for the Decker and Armour meat packing companies, retiring 20 years ago last June. He and his wife lived in Charles City 27 years and upon retirement moved to an acreage west of Ionia. Both are 84 years old.
