Mrs. K. R. Ferrin died in a Colorado town on Saturday, where she and Mr. Ferrin went for her health about two years ago. She was afflicted with that dreaded disease consumption, consequently her demise was not unexpected. The remains arrived in Cherokee Tuesday morning and the funeral occurred from the J. L. Ferrin home yesterday. The deceased was formerly Miss Jennie Shipton of Amherst. Two little children are left to mourn a devoted mother. The sympathy of all goes out to the grief-stricken father and the little ones left behind.

The body of the late Mrs. Raymond Ferrin arrived here Tuesday from Colorado Springs and the funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the residence of J. L. Ferrin, there being over thirty relatives of the family including a twin brother of deceased present. Mrs. Ferrin having for many years been a member of the M. E. church. They were simple though impressive in character and were attended by a large number of friends of deceased who came to pay the last tribute of respect to one whom in life they esteemed greatly. The interment was in Oak Hill. (Source: Ferrin Family Scrapbook provided by Marilyn Kofmehl)
