Donna (Ford) Kauffman, 60, of Hillside Apartment, Cherokee, died Sunday at her home of an apparent heart attack.
Services will be Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cherokee. Burial will be on Monday in Kennebec, South Dakota,
She was born February 2, 1934, in Cherokee, Iowa to Michael and Alice (Gorman) Ford. She attended schools in the Cherokee area. She graduated from high school in Meriden, Iowa. She married Dean Swanson. She later married Leo Kaufman. She managed the Cherokee Country Club at one time. Donna had been a resident of Meriden, Iowa until recently moving to Cherokee.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Swanson, of Hutchinson, Kan., and Police Chief Ken Swanson, of Kingsley, Iowa; four daughters, Vicky Starke, of Columbia, Missouri; Karen Reid, of Greeley, Colo.; Laura Kauffman, of LeMars,Iowa; DeAnn Hausemann, of Maxwell, Iowa. Also, one sister, Evelyn Lamp, of Loveland, Colo.; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Mike Ford.
