DEATH OF M. MORTENSEN
Resident of Silver Passed Away Very Suddenly of ParalysisMarten Mortensen was born in Skane Province, Sweden, Sept. 29, 1841. He was united in marriage at the age of 29 years to Miss Ingrid Johnson. To this union were born six children, three sons and three daughters. Mrs. Mortensen and five children survive him. A daughter, Anna, preceded him in death October, 103. He with his family came to this country in March 1900, and has since made his home on the farm with his daughter, Mrs. Ida Nelson. He has been firmly established in the faith of the Lutheran church since childhood. He was always of exceedingly good health until November (…illegible…) paralysis from which he never rallied but grew gradually weaker till death claimed him Dec. 4, 1907.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Nordell of Cherokee, the remains being laid at rest in Good Hope cemetery Dec 5, 1907. Many relatives and sympathizing friends of the family were present.
