Mrs. Sharon L. Conley, 60, Cherokee, died Jan 22 at her home following a lengthy illness.
Services will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cherokee. The Rev. James Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cherokee. A scripture service will be held on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee.
She was born Feb 23, 1932 in Cherokee to Louis and Emma (Scrock) Fuhrman. She graduated from Wilson High School in Cherokee in 1950. On Feb 3, 1951 she married Robert L. Conley in Cherokee. She worked for Northwestern Bell and Iowa Electric before going to work for Walnut Grove Products, where she worked for 20 years, retiring Feb 25, 1987. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She enjoyed her retirement by playing bridge with her many adopted “sisters” and needlepoint.
She is survived by her husband; four sons, Steven Conley and his wife Theresa, Cherokee; Daniel Conley and his wife Renee, Cherokee; James Conley and his wife Janelle, Battle Creek; Robert Conley, Portland, Ore.; two brothers, Paul Fuhrman and his wife DeeAnn, Cherokee; Dale Fuhrman and his wife Anna, Eden Prairie, Minn.; and seven grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Gayle Fuhrman Dunn.
