Mrs. Otto (Hattie) Olson, 94, died Thursday Feb. 21, 1991, at 12:30 p.m. in the Hilltop Care Center in Cherokee following a short illness.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb.25 at 2 p.m. from the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee. Pastor Jeffrey Krueger will officiate and burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery south of Marcus. There will be a family prayer service at 1:45 p.m. at the church on Monday. The Boothby Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

She was born on May 20, 1896, in Cherokee County to Rudolph and Caroline Jahr Hoeppner. She was married to Otto Olson on May 24, 1913 in Plymouth County. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee and the Ladies Aide. Her home was at 816 Birch Street and she had been a resident of the Cherokee area most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Otto Olson on July 17, 1971, four daughters, nine brothers, and two sisters.

She is survived by seven sons, Leonard Olson of Cherokee, Harold Olson of Storm Lake, William Olson of San Antonio, Texas, Donald Olson of Glendale, Ariz., Francis Olson of Cherokee, Merlyn Olson of Des Moines and Virgil Olson of Minneapolis, Minn.; five daughters, Mrs. George (Anita) Nelson of Cherokee, Mrs. Eldon (Evelyn) Scott of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Marlin (Luella) Cipperley of Holstein, Mrs. Thomas (Margaret) Patris of San Diego, calif., and Mrs. Darlene Milbrodt of Sioux City; 34 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and one brother Edward Hoeppner of Cedar Falls.
