Mittie Lou Wright, 78, of Cherokee died Saturday morning August 16 at her home in Cherokee.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 21 a t10:30 a.m. at the First Church of Christ in Cherokee. Pastor Beryle Hicks will officiate and burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee. There was a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. at the church on Thursday. Visitation was on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with the family present from 6:30 p.m. until * p.m. at the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee.

Mittie was born on Sept 25, 1924 at Cherokee to Glen and Verna (Fowler) Wright. She graduated from Cherokee Wilson High School. She had been a resident of Cherokee County most of her life. She had worked as a nurse's aid at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute and at the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital for many years, retiring in 1987. She was a longtime member of the First Church of Christ in Cherokee.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1931, her mother in 1988 and a sister-in-law, Donna Wright.

She is survived by one sister and two brothers: June Olson and her husband Louis of Palm Desert, Calif.; Donald Wright of Cherokee; Adrian Wright and his wife Julie of Cherokee; also many nieces and nephews and friends.
