Lois Elaine Willbrandt, 79, of Cherokee, Iowa passed away Friday, April 4, 1997 at Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee. Family and friends will gather at the Greenwood Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday for the procession to the cemetery. The body was cremated and there will be no visitation.

Mrs. Willbrandt was born March 10, 1918 in Washta, Iowa to Charles Edward and Gertrude (Whisman) Fellom. She graduated from the Meriden, Iowa high school in 1935. On November 4, 1939 she married George (Bill) Willbrandt in South Sioux City, Nebraska. She had worked at the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in the housekeeping department and then worked for the Cherokee school in the hot lunch program. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, bowling and cooking. She was a member of the Memorial Presbyterian Church in Cherokee.

Survivors include her husband, Bill; two daughters, Dolowa and her husband Merlin (Ben) Wilson, Cherokee; and Joan and her husband James Hollister, San Jose, California; one son, Terry Willbrandt, Cherokee; eight grandchildren, Kathryn Anderson; Kelly Jo Hollister; Christina Marcucci; Michael, Timothy and Patrick Hollister; and Con and Thomine Wilson; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Ellen Ott, Cherokee; five sisters-in-law, Marjorie Glassmaker, Cherokee; Barbara Willbrandt, Seneca, South Carolina; Garnet Townsend, Emmet, Idaho; Maxine Fellom, Newport News, Virginia; and Harriet Fellom, Mason City, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Edna Turner, Arbella Olson; and Rachael Moeller; and three brothers; Merle Harley and Darrel Fellom.

A memorial fund has been established.
