M. Benson, an old pioneer of Afton township, died at his home on his Afton township farm early Wednes-day morning, aged 87 years. Funeral services wee held Friday afernoon in Aurelia, conducted by Rev. Thorson of Dows, Iowa. The deceased came to his death from la grippe which developed into pneumonia.
