Raymond C. Anderson
Raymond C. Anderson, 78, of Whiting, died Tuesday (Nov. 22, 1983) at a Onawa hospital following a long illness.
Services were 1:30 p.m. Friday at the whiting Church of Christ with Evangelist Robert Butt officiating. Burial was in the Hite Cemetery in Whiting under the direction of the Wood funeral Home in Whiting.
Mr. Anderson was born Nov. 24 1904, in Marcus. He moved to sioux City in 1926 where he worked as a chef at the Higway 75 Truckstop and Edith and Joe's. He married Mildred "Dutch" Christensen Oct. 31, 1959 in Salix, and the couple made their home in Whiting.
Mr. Anderson was a member of the Marcus Methodist Church.
Survivors are his wife; three sons Dr. Gerald Anderson of Eden Mills Vt. Dr. Albert Anderson of Paxton, Mass. and Ronald Anderson of Mora, Minn.; a step-son, Carl Christensen of Omaha; two step-daughters, Mrs. Leverne (Mary Lou) Halcomb of Mitchell, Mrs. Paul (Barbara) Snodgrass of Sioux City; three sister Mrs. William (Edna) Rattray of Sioux City, Mrs. Walter (Ila) Holmlund of Clearwater, Fla., and Mrs. Daniel (Marie) Ward of Chicago; five grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; and 15 great-step-grandchildren.
